Connecting an outlet to an internet wire. How to crimp a power outlet. Overview of products of well-known brands - manufacturers of Internet outlets

After appearing on Russian market Internet outlets from Legrand eliminated the obligatory need to invite a master to the house to connect it.

The procedure has been greatly simplified and is feasible even in the absence of a special tool, a screwdriver and wire cutters are enough.

Of course, the presence of a special tool makes the task even easier, this and other issues related to connection are described in detail in the illustrated manual below.

Preparatory activities

For experienced people, the study of the first section of this manual is optional. The material included in the preparatory activities is aimed at beginners. Therefore, advanced users can immediately proceed directly to the procedure for connecting an Internet outlet, described starting from the second section of this manual.

So, the cable from the Internet provider, which enters from the entrance to the subscriber's home, in the vast majority of cases has 4 pairs intertwined with each other, which is why the nickname "twisted pair" stuck to the wire.

Each wire in pairs has its own insulation color.

They are inserted into the Legrand outlet connector and crimped. It should be noted that this is the most difficult and crucial stage of all stages of installation.

If you make a mistake at this stage and confuse the wiring, then the outlet will not work. On preliminary stage it is recommended to practice on a simple jack, this will not take a significant amount of time, but will allow the beginner to gain invaluable experience that will help, without damaging the outlet, correctly mount it on the first try.

In addition, a cable with a jack is in any case necessary for the user when connecting, for example, a computer. The jack itself costs a penny and it’s not a pity to damage it at the training stage, which cannot be said about the Internet outlet.

There are a couple of basic steps you need to take:

Correct wiring arrangement

There are two main types of wiring pinouts: "A" and "B", but in most cases "B" is used, so a simple home user only needs to study the second order of the location of the cores.

If you correctly connect all the wires, then there will be no problems with the outlet from the legrand company. The figure below shows the pinout diagrams.

Four-pair cables are ubiquitous, that is, containing 8 colored wires (there may be another additional thin wire for shielding, but if it is, then it can be simply bent to the side after removing the insulation so as not to interfere).

However, there are also two-pair ones, which have a lower throughput. In this case, the pinout will be as shown in the figure below.

In any case, the jack is used eight-pin.

crimping

It is necessary to carefully, without damaging the color insulation of thin wires, remove the cable sheath (usually 5-6 centimeters are enough).

Next, you need to unwind and straighten the pairs of wires. Then arrange them according to type "B" and cut off the ends with wire cutters as shown in the photo below.

It is recommended to place the jack next to the wires, so it will immediately become clear how long the ends should be left (about 1 cm).

After that, enter them into the jack. In this case, the connector is located with the latch down (the latch is a latch that does not allow the jack to fall out of the Legrand socket after it is installed).

All colored wires must be placed in individual grooves and the jack must be installed in the socket of the special tongs.

Holding the wire with one hand, use the other to bring the special handles together. tool together (you don’t need to apply a lot of force, if the installation is done correctly, then the tool handles come together almost effortlessly).

Note: When the pincer handles are too tight or crackling, the jack must be pulled out of the tool and checked for correct installation.

After bringing together the handles of the special tongs, the insulation will be cut off, and the jack will have reliable contacts for connection.

Internet socket connection procedure

With the connection of the Legrand outlet, rarely anyone has difficulties, since the design has been improved and tested for many years. For example, in the outlet of the Legrand Valena model, the connectors are located immediately under the front cover.

The following sequential steps are required:

Since Legrand produces various types of sockets, each user selects best option for specific conditions. Of course, the installation and fastening, for example, of an internal outlet is different from an external one, but the connection principles are similar.

Modern ethics allow mounting sockets not only on the walls of rooms, but even on furniture. The variety of colors and designs of sockets produced by the company allows you to quickly choose the right option for your office or living room.

How to connect a conventional type connector?

Connect according to one of the 2 types: "A" or "B", described in the first paragraph of this manual. But in most cases, type "B" is used in the Russian Federation.

To get to the connector, you will need to disassemble the socket, however, in Legrand this process is structurally simplified and is completed in a matter of seconds. Inside, the user will see a color coding for connection. It is required, having removed the insulation from the cable and laid the wires, guided by the colors, crimp the cores.

If the excess length of the wires protrudes beyond the cover, then armed with wire cutters, they will need to be cut off. Next, the socket is inserted into the seat and screwed tightly.

How to connect a connector that provides for quick installation?

The connection scheme of the connector is no different from a conventional outlet, but the method of mounting the outlet is different.

Behind such an outlet are latches that turn to the left. Then remove the connector. Connect the cable wires according to the standard scheme.

After the procedure for cutting off the excess length of the wires, insert the connector into the socket and turn to the right, which will lead to crimping and obtaining good contacts.

Technical points of wiring and socket installation

The main problem with the task of connecting an outlet is laying a cable to it around the apartment. A lot of separate materials on the Internet are devoted to this issue, so it is not advisable to load the instructions with unnecessary details.

The main point that is recommended to be taken into account is the wiring to the destination separately from the power lines. However, this is often not possible, and in these cases such a design is acceptable, but with a shielding wire.

As described in the first section of this manual, that is, in the preparatory activities, you first need to remove the insulation from the end of the cable (5-6 cm).

Sockets "Legrand" are disassembled according to the same principle. For example, "Legrand celiane" also has a twist latch. As a result, the socket is disassembled into 3 components:

  1. Fastening;
  2. Module;
  3. Lid.

The connector is located inside the element numbered "2".

To get to it, you need to turn the latch to the left, after which it can be easily removed. Enter wiring type "B". In order to check the correct location of the contacts, it is convenient to use the jack, which is prepared as a result of the execution of preparatory measures.

It is inserted into the connector and called with a multimeter.

The device can be used cheap Chinese. Even it will allow you to get error-free results.

Before starting the installation, it is required to insert the wire into the mount (even experienced installers often forget to do this, which leads to a loss of time and nerves for re-wiring).

Although in most sockets from other manufacturers this is allowed to be done later, but Legrand does not provide for this in devices.

Then insert the latch and fix by turning, applying a little effort.

Cut off the excess ends and assemble an internet outlet.

At the final stage, fix the cover.

Insert a jack into the finished product, for example, a patch cord coming from the router, and check the connection.

After making sure that the outlet is working properly, put on a decorative cover and enjoy surfing the Internet.

Conclusion

A beginner will find the procedure lengthy and time-consuming, but the time it takes to complete the steps in this guide takes less time than it takes to read.

The advent of the Internet has changed the lives of many families. Most of them are connected to the Internet, especially since this does not require much, it is enough to have a personal computer or an ordinary mobile phone. In turn, each family member can be connected to a separate line. Local distribution of the Internet resource is carried out wirelessly using a special Wi-Fi protocol. Yet many prefer wired distribution because it is much more reliable, simpler, and cheaper. In addition, the presence of additional electromagnetic waves adversely affects the well-being of a person.

As a rule, they try to hide all the wires in the walls so that they do not interfere. Internet wires are no exception. This is mainly carried out during the period of repair work. For this, there are special sockets, called computer or information. Basically, sockets with RJ-45 connectors are used. You can do all the installation processes yourself if you know how to do it, especially since there can be more than two wires and you need to know which contact to connect to. The procedure is performed not by twisting or soldering, but by crimping, using a special tool for this.

The Internet cable that enters the apartment is called a twisted pair cable and is connected to a plastic connector. A similar plastic connector is called a connector, under the designation RJ-45. Professionals call such devices "Jacks".

Basically, the plastic connector is made of a transparent material through which all the colored wires are visible. Absolutely the same details are used to connect computers, a modem to a computer, and other computer hardware. In this case, an unusual arrangement of colored wires is possible. It is this connector that is inserted into the information outlet. Here the most important thing is to figure out the order of the location of all the wires and then the problem with the crimping of the connector will be solved.

There are two connection schemes: T568A and T568B. We do not practice the first connection option, and the connection is carried out according to the “B” scheme. Therefore, you need to familiarize yourself with the arrangement of colors, according to this scheme.

A very important point is the number of wires in the twisted pair. As a rule, cables with 2 pairs or 4 pairs of wires are used. 2-pair cables are used for data transmission at speeds up to 1 Gb/s, and 4-pair cables are used for data transmission at speeds from 1 to 10 Gb/s. Internet wires are brought into private houses and apartments, where data transfer is carried out at a speed of up to 100 Mb / s. Despite this, there is a steady trend towards an increase in the speed of transmission of Internet resources. Therefore, it is better to play it safe and install a 4-pair cable with the expectation of the future. Moreover, connectors and sockets are produced for connecting a 4-pair twisted pair.

When using a 2-pair cable, after laying the first 3 wires according to the “B” scheme, the green wire is connected to the sixth pin, skipping two pins. This can be seen in the corresponding photo.

To crimp the ends on the connector, special pliers are used, which can cost from 6 to 10 dollars, depending on the manufacturer. When using such a tool, high-quality contacts are obtained, although this can be done with wire cutters and a screwdriver.

First, you need to remove the protective insulation from the cable, at a distance of 7-8 cm from the end of the cable. The cable has four pairs of wires of different colors, twisted in pairs. There are cables where there is a thin shielding braid. It is not needed, so you can simply bend it to the side. All pairs are untwisted, and the wires are aligned, bred to the sides and laid out according to the "B" scheme.

The divorced wires are clamped between the thumb and forefinger. At the same time, it is necessary to control that the wires are even and tightly pressed one to the other. If the wires are of different lengths, then they can be aligned with wire cutters, leaving a total of 10-12 mm in length. If you take the connector and try it on, then the insulation of the wires should start slightly above the latch.

This can also be seen in the photo. After that, the prepared wires are brought into the connector.

It is very important that each wire falls into a special track, while each wire must rest against the edge of the connector. Holding the cable in this position, it is inserted into the pliers. Crimp the cable in a smooth, gentle motion until the handles of the pliers come together. If all prepared operations are performed correctly, then there should be no problems. If it is felt that additional effort is needed, then it is advisable to suspend the crimping process and check everything again. The main thing is that the connector is in the correct position. After checking and adjusting, crimping is continued.

During the crimping process, the tongs push the conductors to the micro-knives, which push through the insulation and establish contact with the conductor.

The result is a reliable connection with excellent contact. If the first time did not work, the crimping process must be repeated. To do this, the wires with the “jack” are cut off, stripped, a new “jack” is taken and the process is repeated. The main thing is to stock up on "jacks", because the first time is unlikely to succeed.

Video tutorial: crimping the RJ-45 connector

Thanks to the advent of the Internet, many problems are solved quite quickly, especially after reviewing videos. Therefore, before proceeding directly to crimping the wires, it is advisable to review the video, and very carefully. It shows how to properly handle ticks and how you can do without them. And yet, it is better to play it safe and use the tool for better work.

How to connect an internet cable to a power outlet

To begin with, it should be noted that there are two types of Internet outlets, like electrical outlets: for outdoor installation and for indoor installation.

At the same time, it should be noted that all sockets are collapsible and consist of three parts: half of the socket body serves for fastening, the inside of the socket is designed for connecting wires, and the second part of the body serves as a protective element. There are both single and double Internet sockets.

Computer outlets may vary appearance but the principle of operation is the same. All of them are equipped with microknife contacts. As a rule, they are designed to cut through the insulation of conductors, after which a reliable contact is established, since the process is carried out under a certain gain.

Connecting a computer wall outlet

Almost all manufacturers of computer sockets place a connection diagram inside, indicating the order in which the wires are placed, based on their colors. As a rule, both scheme "A" and scheme "B" are indicated. Scheme "A" should not be taken into account, and focus on the scheme "B".

First of all, they begin to install the case on the wall, positioning it so that the cable inlet looks up and the computer connector looks down. Although this installation option can be changed, depending on the specific conditions, the outlet can be installed horizontally.

As you can see, connecting an Internet outlet is not a complicated operation and anyone can handle it. This may take only a few minutes. In this case, once is enough, although the first time it may not work, especially if there are no skills in handling wires.

In order not to suffer too much, it is better to watch the corresponding video, which shows and tells how to connect a computer outlet with 4 wires and with 8 wires.

Despite the different number of wires, the connection technology is the same.

Connecting an internal internet outlet

The main task of the connection is to be able to properly disassemble the Internet outlet, since each manufacturer solves this problem in its own way.

The most important thing is to disassemble it so that there is free access to contacts with microknives. It is in this part that the connection is made, after which the housing cover with the contacts is closed. Each model of such an outlet has its own way of assembly and disassembly.

If we take, for example, a Legrand computer socket, then in order to get to the place where the wires of the Legrand Valena RJ-45 socket are connected, you first need to remove the front cover. Inside the case, you can see a white plastic panel with an impeller, where an arrow is drawn (see photo).

The handle on the panel is turned in the direction of the arrow, after which the front panel is removed. On the surface of the panel there is a metal plate with a pattern, by which you can determine which contacts and which wire should be connected to. The color marking of twisted pairs is also indicated here. Before starting the connection, wires prepared for the connection process are threaded into the hole located on the plate.

To make it more clear, it is better to watch the prepared video.

You can also find a socket for connecting the Internet from Lezard. Here the design is completely different. The front panel is designed with screws, so to remove it, just unscrew the screws. As for its insides, everything here is fastened with latches. To pull the insides out of the case, you need to pick up a regular, small screwdriver and squeeze out the clamps.

To get to the contact group and remove it from the case, you need to press the latch, which can be found on top. As a result of such actions, a box may be in your hands, from which you will have to remove the cover to get to the contacts. To remove the cover, it is enough to pry off the side petals with a thin object. You will still have to make some effort, since the latch is quite elastic. At the same time, you need to remember that in the hands of plastic and, if everything is not done carefully, then you can break it.

For more clarity, it is proposed to familiarize yourself with the video lesson.

In conclusion, it is worth noting that the presence of an appropriate video on the Internet simplifies the process of mastering various actions or carrying out work related to connecting computer sockets. Despite the fact that each model of the outlet is arranged in its own way, the connection process is the same for everyone. The most important thing is to master the connection process itself, associated with certain features. It would seem that it would be easier if the connection was made by twisting or soldering, which would be available to almost everyone. But at the same time, it would not be possible to ensure the compactness and accuracy of the connection itself. But such connections have their advantages: you wouldn’t have to stock up on “jacks”. Although, on the other hand, this connection method is more designed for professionalism, simplicity and speed, especially if you use a special tool.

And, nevertheless, if there are at least some skills in working with electrical wires, then such a connection does not contain any difficulties. Without inviting any specialists, it is really possible to wire a computer network around your apartment or private house. Moreover, such specialists will take a considerable amount for this.

Connecting an Internet outlet is a topical issue, because wired Internet is available in almost every apartment. For an aesthetic look, all cables are hidden in the walls (under the baseboard) and go into sockets from there, and the Internet cable is no exception.

Standards and types of connection

For any wired or wireless Internet equipment, a single standard for connecting to the system unit has been adopted. No matter how the Internet enters the apartment, there is always a twisted pair - a cable used to connect the router and modem. The network cable contains eight copper wires twisted into four pairs. They dampen any electrical interference, providing an impressive (up to 1000 Mbps) Internet speed. The twisted pair ends with a special connector called a "jack".

The RG-45 connector is needed for any option for connecting a computer to the Internet

The body of the 8P8C connector is transparent, and inside it there are wires of different colors. Similar connectors are used on other connecting wires, for example, between a modem and a PC. The difference is only in the location, or, in the terminology of computer scientists, in the pinout of the wires.
Previously, for the connection, part of the wires crossed in a certain order - only then the equipment worked. Since 2001, it was decided to introduce two main connection standards - TIA / EIA-568-B and TIA / EIA-568-A. At present, the first standard (B) for connecting twisted pair wires is in use. That is what needs to be remembered.

You can crimp the connector according to any color scheme option - this will not affect the network performance

A two- and four-pair cable is available for networking. For a solid data transfer rate (1–10 Gb / s), a four-pair cable is recommended, for transmission up to 1 Gb / s, a two-pair cable is recommended. Now lines with Internet speeds of up to 100 Mb / s are being brought into the premises, but it is very likely that the Internet speed will increase in the future. Therefore, it is preferable to initially expand the network to four pairs, so as not to lay a new wire later. If the network is already connected with a two-pair wire, then the same connectors are used, but after the first three (see the diagram above), two contacts are skipped, and green should be the sixth.

If you do not need high Internet speed, you can connect a four-wire cable

With this connection, you can connect two computers to the network.

To connect two devices to the Internet, you need only one four-pair wire

For this manipulation, special pliers are used, but you can also use wire cutters with a flat screwdriver. It's also a good idea to get a crossover knife.

Crimping with special pliers

Crimping with a flathead screwdriver

To work, you will need pliers, a knife, a flat screwdriver and a diagram.

  1. We remove the cable sheath with a knife.
  2. We distribute the wiring according to the selected connection scheme.
  3. Carefully cut the wires so that they all fit into the connector.
  4. We place them in such a way that they are evenly pressed against the plates.
  5. With the sharp end of a screwdriver, press on each plate.

Network wires for interconnecting two computers and a computer with any network equipment are crimped in different ways - there are crossover and direct options

Leading socket manufacturers

There are many brands on the market, but the main manufacturers of Internet sockets are Legrand, Vico, Schneider, Lezard. The nuance is that the socket of each of these companies is connected in its own way, since the manufacturer offers its own wire fastening mechanism, but the principle is general.

Assembling an outlet for the Internet network

The process of installing computer sockets from different manufacturers differs only in details.

Preparatory work

  1. First of all, electrical wiring is laid to the point where the router will be connected.
  2. After that, a niche for the socket is prepared. Any will do - even from a regular outlet. To drill a hole, a puncher with a special nozzle is used.
  3. Next, the finished niche is cleaned of dirt, and a socket box is installed on the gypsum in it.

Preparatory work begins with the installation of the socket

Wiring diagrams

After disconnecting the terminal block, you can start wiring:

All well-known brands of Internet outlets are available in two varieties:

  1. Internal installation. The box for the internal socket is immured into the wall. After the wire is connected, the electrical part returns to it and is closed with a plastic box.
  2. Outdoor installation. The socket box is screwed to the wall. First, the electrical part with the contact plate, the next step is to connect the wires and install the decorative box. The number of connection points on the case can be different - one or two.

The type of connection for these two types of sockets is the same.

Wall outlet installation

The plastic part of the Internet outlet is screwed to the wall - with the computer connector down, and the cable inlet up. Further actions are performed in the following sequence:

  1. From the twisted pair, the insulation is carefully cleaned by 5–7 cm.
  2. The conductor is wound into a plastic clamp and fastened in such a way that the stripped part is just below the clamp.
  3. The wires are brought to the micro-knives in the contact plate and pulled through them until they click. This sound means that the insulation has been cut and the wire is in place.
  4. Excess wires are cut off. The lid is put on and you're done.

The principle of crimping a computer outlet does not differ from similar actions with twisted pair. However, there are nuances depending on the color of the insulation, so the circuit looks like this:

Before crimping and installing the socket, it is necessary to designate the location of the housing. For an internal socket, the case is latched inside, which means that it should be placed in the most convenient place for equipment.

With an external outlet near the box, it is attached to several screws or double-sided tape. Next, the braid is removed from the twisted pair and the wiring is untwisted. Then you need to decompose them by color, and then press them until the characteristic click of the tool (extractor). As a result, you get a neatly fixed twisted-pair wire at the end of the groove.

Crimping occurs in the following sequence:

  1. Cutting the end of the cable with a cutter into a crimping tool
  2. Removing insulation from a wire that is placed in a crimp extractor
  3. Shortening the wires by 1.5 cm and aligning them to the same level
  4. Placing the conductor in the connector and verifying the correct entry and fixation of the wire in the connector
  5. The connector is inserted into the crimping device
  6. The pliers are clamped to the extent that the connector pins squeeze the cable conductors.

Crimping computer socket rj - 45

If it was not possible to purchase a crossover knife, it is quite possible to do without it, the main thing is that the length of the wire is sufficient.

In this case, the use of a patch cord is even inappropriate.

In large rooms, you can simply place a long wire with crimped RJ 45 connectors on the main wire, but without using a socket with a 5E patch code.

Checking the connection crimp

You can find out how correctly you crimped the cable by placing it in the HUB switch. If it works, then everything is done as it should.

In addition, there are quite a lot of testers of different price categories on the computer market that can test a twisted pair cable for operability. Moreover, they work on the same principle, so there is no point in overpaying.

The photo shows a tester that is equipped with a transmitter and receiver connected via the two connectors listed above (RJ 45 and Cat 5e). This device shows which wires are twisted, exchanged in pairs, in addition, it also checks the integrity of the wiring. If the connection is correct, the receiver will alternately light up different LED colors.

How to connect an 8-wire socket

To connect the outlet you only need a flat screwdriver and a thin knife.

The cable sheath is removed no more than three centimeters, then the wires are unwound by 15 mm. According to the wiring diagram, they are placed in the comb with a screwdriver, and then with a knife until it stops. With a special desire, two twisted-pair wires are placed in one socket (but when they are combined).

Disadvantage of dual connection: low data transfer rate.

How to connect a socket to two sockets

An effective fixation of the conductor in the socket is provided by a tool for tamping the wire to a maximum depth for the socket. Such a tool can be an ordinary tweezers or a thin screwdriver. The wires for driving into the terminals do not need to be stripped, since the socket has special cuts that clean them from insulation.

Then you should pull the cable onto the socket module. At the same time, it is also cleared by 3 cm from the main insulation, and the wiring is untwisted by 1.5 cm.

Now you need to fix the cable with a cable tie on the fixture board. Get rid of the protruding screed with wire cutters.

Please note that each diagram has notes on which cable and where to connect. For this, a plate is provided, as in the following photo.

You can attach the box with the socket with screws or double-sided tape.

To remove the socket cover, just press both sides of the box with your fingers a little, and it will open.

You can see how compression occurs in practice in the video.

In conclusion, I would like to wish you success in the repair, and follow the safety precautions!

Few people know about such a useful thing as the Internet. socket and especially how it connects. But in fact, this device allows you to solve many problems. Firstly, it makes it possible to avoid loosening of contacts in the line coming from the provider and, as a result, the need to call its employees for periodic repairs; and secondly, it simplifies the connection of various gadgets and accessories which makes life much easier.

Design

To begin with, we will consider the typical versions of models presented on the market of Internet accessories. Conventionally, they can be divided into two main categories, which differ in the method of installation:

  1. embedded;
  2. overhead.

Both options are widely used, while the first is more preferable at home, since it solves the problem of ease of use and aesthetic taste, which is especially important in elegant.

It is from them that one can additionally distinguish:

  • standard RJ-45;
  • dual RJ-45 (for two parallel networks).

Otherwise, the structure is almost identical, although there are exceptions to the rule that have additional USB ports, etc. But in this case, it does not make sense to consider them, so let's go straight to the main point.

Preparation

At the time of installation, all conditions must be prepared. Firstly, it is necessary that the main cable has already been laid from the provider and a branch has been laid from it directly to the place of use. Otherwise, the whole procedure does not make any sense.

Advice! Ideally, the branch is laid inside the walls, but this is extremely rare, so this procedure has to be performed by the owner of the dwelling. It is hidden inside a corrugated polymer tube and installed in a special channel, hollowed out in brick or concrete masonry. Or they hide it behind, which can both complicate and simplify the installation process.

The problem can be the purchase of a special rosette cup for drywall and even special tools for cutting holes in gypsum boards. However, all this can be at hand with a thrifty owner.

Otherwise, in addition to the kit, packed in cellophane, the master will need:

  1. a screwdriver, preferably a four-sided (phillips);
  2. knife, wire cutters or stripper (optional).

Note! The stripper is a professional tool that allows people involved in networking, such as network administrators and technicians, to strip contacts and crimp as quickly as possible.

Step-by-step instruction (for embedded version)

Initially, you should unpack and disassemble the existing set of spare parts, so to speak, to separate the wheat from the chaff. Next, using a screwdriver, you should separate the outer part of the socket from the inner one, which is hidden inside in a special hole or in a glass.

The next step is to divide the inner part again in the same way with the same tool.

Advice! But you can do it just with your hands, slightly pressing down on the internal module with a built-in port. As a result, a small fragment should be in the hands.

Note! The structure of the product may differ and constitute the know-how of the manufacturer. For example, some developers add a special spare part to it, called a fixing ring. It is easily manually separated from the main part, which is a single whole of the outer and hidden components.

  • In turn, a small cover should be removed from it. This can be done with a knife or the same screwdriver. Below it will be a miniature box with 8 slots and one hole for shrinking a 4-pair cord.
  • The next step is stripping the cable. It should extend about 10 cm beyond the wall. The rest is unlikely to be needed, so it can be safely cut off, leaving a few centimeters for stripping.

Advice! If there is a stripper, then it can be immediately cleaned with the corresponding end, and if not, then using a knife, draw a circle along the outer common braid and then remove it with a slight movement, tearing it at the cut point.

Important! This should be done carefully, since there is a high probability of damaging the thin copper wires located inside.

  • Next, you should disassemble the pairs of cores into separate threads for the convenience of further work.
  • The next stage is the most critical, since an error in the process of its implementation can cost the quality of all work, and as a result, all operations will need to be performed from scratch. The bottom line is to put the threads in the appropriate grooves of the prepared fragment with the port in the necessary strands of the stripped cord.
  • For correct execution prudent manufacturers supplement operations with a legend in the form of a sticker. It shows what color braided wire should be installed in the numbered slot.

There are two installation scenarios, both of which are fixed on the sticker. The first scenario is applied with a direct scheme, which assumes the following sequence:

But it is used exclusively when connecting devices of the same type, therefore, in this case, a script encoded under the name T568B should be used, namely, having a cross sequence:

According to the standard, serial numbering is performed, and there will be 4 marked slots on each side. In each of them, you should enter the appropriate wiring and pull it up to a characteristic click. If necessary, the wires can be pushed all the way with the blunt side of the knife blade.

Advice! When all the wiring is properly installed, you can check the correct assembly by connecting a patch cord to the port connected to the target device, for example, or a personal computer. The appearance of a network signal will indicate the successful completion of the operation.

  • Before assembly, you need to cut off the excess wires, leaving a millimeter for reliability. Now, in reverse order, put on the cover and fix the element in the inside of the case.
  • Then, using mounting screws, it is mounted on the wall or in a rosette cup with maintaining the level.
  • And at the last stage, the outer decorative part is fixed, which does not carry a functional load.
  • conclusions

As you can see, the difficulties in performing this process are insignificant. It requires a minimum of tools and a little care. If you need to install an external type of construction, then there will be an order of magnitude less problems, since installation is much easier.
