Front paint for external works. Paint Alpina Durable facade

Facade paint is a unique finishing material that allows you to give the building any look, realize any design plans. Staining also helps protect the base from the action of ultraviolet radiation, precipitation. Facade wall paints are resistant to frequent washing and biological damage.

How to choose facade paint for outdoor work

You need to pay attention to the following parameters:

  • surface reflectivity. The paint can be glossy, semi-gloss or matte. Gloss looks great, easy to clean, has a mirror finish. But such paint for the facade of a house on wood and any other surface does not let steam through. It is well suited for metal, and for hinged systems. In other cases, choose a semi-matte or matte surface;
  • UV resistance. Gloss wins here, because it reflects most of the destructive rays and retains color for a long time;
  • painting qualities. The paint should be characterized by minimal consumption, good hiding power. A qualitative composition can be applied even by a person who does not have special skills.

Types of facade paints by composition

Facade paints differ in the type of binder:

  • acrylic facade paints. A versatile material that is widely used in the exterior decoration of buildings. The covering turns out vapor-permeable, does not cause formation of condensate under a covering. The acrylic composition of paintwork materials is suitable for any surfaces, except for lime and silicate;
  • alkyd paints for a facade on concrete. The coating resists moisture well, it can be washed. Alkyd paint can be used on any mineral surfaces, but forms a vapor barrier film on them;
  • latex water-based paint. There is an opinion that such a coating will be washed away by the first rain, but this is not so. After application, the water evaporates quickly, leaving only the polymer and coloring pigments on the surface. Under the action of sunlight, polymerization begins, a continuous color layer with excellent protective functions is formed.

Our store offers paints for wood, concrete, bricks, etc. Choose the most suitable material.

Manufacturers of facade paints

Materials for outdoor use are represented by several brands:

  • Tikkurila - Finnish paints, which are rightfully considered one of the best not only in Scandinavia, but also in Europe. Materials have good hiding power and long service life;
  • Beckers is a fairly well-known brand representing high quality paints. Products comply with EU environmental safety regulations.

How to apply facade paint

With a small staining area or with a complex color solution, you can use a brush or a small roller. You will also have to work manually with materials containing anti-corrosion additives, thickeners, as they are too dense for machine spraying.

If you have to apply paint for the facade on plaster or concrete on a large wall, it is better to use an airbrush, having previously protected the windows. The rules for surface preparation are standard here: cleaning, degreasing, priming.

  • to make sure the color is right, paint a small section of the wall in an inconspicuous area. After drying, the shade may change by several tones;
  • if there is remnants of old paint on the wall, apply a new coating on a small area and wait about half an hour. During this time, it will become clear whether the first layer dissolves the new coating or not. Depending on the result, it will be possible to start painting or you will have to do a thorough cleaning of the surface;
  • you can protect areas that do not need painting (for example, tiles or porcelain stoneware), you can use chalk talker. Together with it, after the repair, all accidental splashes will be washed off.

Alpina Fassadenweiss is a white, matt, water-based paint for weather-resistant facades on mineral substrates, as well as for abrasion-resistant interior substrates.

Alpina Fassadenweiss is a dispersion paint for facades tinted on a machine using the automatic Colorexpress system, manually tinted by Alpina Tint, has high vapor permeability and weather resistance, very good hiding power, when painting internal surfaces it creates a coating resistant to abrasion. The product is environmentally friendly.

The composition of the paint contains a dispersion of acrylic-styrene copolymers, pigments, mineral filler, water, additives. The density is 1.56 g per ml. Consumption approx. 150 ml/m². Paint is produced in containers of 5 liters - 8 kg, 10 liters - 15.9 kg.

Substrate preparation

Before applying paint, prepare the surface. Completely remove moss, plants, loose coatings and dirt deposits with high pressure water jets or dry mechanical cleaning. After cleaning, the substrate must be strong, clean, free of separating substances and have a load-bearing capacity.

New plasters can be processed only after 2-4 weeks. On porous, absorbent plasters with light sand streaks, prime with Alpina Einlassgrund, and on chalking plasters with heavy sand streaks, prime with Alpina Dupagrund.

Capagrund primer is used on slightly absorbent concrete and smooth surfaces. On absorbent surfaces, use Diamant Einlassgrund.

Clinker brick is suitable for painting only if it is frost-resistant and without foreign inclusions. The masonry must be dry, without efflorescence and cracks at the seams. Prime with Alpina Einlassgrund or Dupagrund.

Clean contaminated grinding old coatings with high-pressure water jets in accordance with the regulations. Pre-coat with Alpina Fassadenweiss thinned no more than 10% with Alpina Einlassgrund primer or Capagrund primer. When cleaning by hand or other suitable method, it is preferable to prime with Dupagrund diluted with 20% alcohol.

Prime non-bearing mineral paints with Dupagrund. For surfaces with efflorescence, remove salt secretions dry with a brush. Apply primer Dupagrund. When working with surfaces of this type, the durability of the coating cannot be guaranteed, since repeated appearance of salt deposits and, as a result, violation of the adhesion of the coating to the substrate are possible.

Smooth out small defects up to 20 mm deep with Capalith Fassadenspachtel P putty. In areas where putty was applied, apply a primer.

Application method

Prime with Alpina Einlassgrund. Using a brush, roller or spray gun, apply the first layer of the coating to the surface, diluted with water up to a maximum of 10%. The final layer can be thinned with water up to a maximum of 5%. The product consumption is about 150 ml/m² per pass on smooth substrates, correspondingly more on rough surfaces. The exact consumption is calculated by trial application.

The appearance of the building depends on a qualitatively painted facade. Facade paint protects the entire building from influences in the form of precipitation, hides uneven surfaces of the walls. It is necessary to rationally approach its choice, since the attractiveness and appearance of the building depend on it. High-quality paint has great service properties, it does not lose its color and shade during a long service life. In addition, it is quite good to apply on surfaces, as it lays down smoothly and in a thick layer.

Facade paints, their decorative properties

  • Tinting is the addition of a white base to the dyes, so you can get the desired colors and shades;
  • Reflective abilities - the paint reflects the rays of light;
  • Lightfastness of the composition - the paint retains color for a long time, and is completely unaffected by ultraviolet radiation;
  • Adhesion - shows the contact of the paint with the surface;
  • Weather resistance - shows the resistance of the solution to the influences of natural phenomena.
  • Vapor permeability - an indicator of the vapor release of the coating;
  • The drying time of the layer is an indicator that depends on the air temperature;
  • Paint consumption - the amount of solution that will be needed for work, measured in liters. Depends on the size of the facade.

Facade paint selection technique

A lot of people who want to spruce up their facade don't even have a clue what paint to choose. Everything you need to consider when choosing materials:

The main thing is to determine the type of surfaces that will soon be coated.
Before you start painting work, you need to do surface preparation. During preparation, they begin to prime the walls. Here, you should find out if the primer and facade paint are compatible.
Shelf life also greatly affects the quality of materials. The more time passes after the manufacture of the paint, the lower its quality.

Important information! It's a big mistake to buy a universal remedy. It is more correct to buy a special paint that has those qualities that are suitable for a certain surface and conditions.

The choice of facade paint

When the recently renovated facade does not look very beautiful, it means that the matter is in the wrong paint. There is an opinion that acrylic paint can be painted on all surfaces. This is not true at all.

Important information! For a certain type of surface, there is a special paint.

Paint for concrete must be resistant to alkali, have a high porosity of the layer. The basis of this paint includes acrylic-silicone components. It is quite difficult to pick up paint on wood. Wood surface:

  • Remarkably absorbs moisture;
  • Subject to rapid decay;
  • Breaks down quickly.

When choosing this type of paint, you must adhere to the same rules that are outlined above. There are paints that dissolve with water or solvent.

Facade paint water-soluble

During facade works, water-soluble compositions are constantly used, which are vapor-permeable, gas-permeable, and odorless. These paints are well tinted.

Gained great popularity acrylic paint. It is based on acrylic resin, it has weak moisture-absorbing and permeable properties, and is highly resistant to various contaminants. Great for painting different surfaces, except for silicate, as it is difficult to apply on them.

Acrylic paints consist of potash glass, which makes it possible to use the composition for painting stone, concrete facades. These paints are very durable and do not lose their color throughout the entire service life.

Silicone paint is also highly resistant to dirt, it does not absorb water, but its color fades anyway.

Lime-based paint is not resistant to precipitation. It is suitable for painting walls with concrete, brick. Often it is used in the decoration of facades, but it is easily washed off and tarnishes.

Cement-based paint, composed of powdered minerals. Constantly during work, this type of paint is diluted with water or solutions, it depends on the surface to be painted. It is made from white cement. The main disadvantage is that the paint will not protect the facade from moisture and pollution.

organic paints

The main advantages of these paints are good quality, resistance to low temperatures, damage. The main disadvantage is high toxicity. These paints include oil, enamel.

Adhesive based paint

The paints are based on organic polymers, cellulose, starch. It is not recommended to use these paints for painting facades, as they have low resistance to moisture and quickly lose their color.

When choosing a paint, you need to look at the information that is indicated on the label, carefully study it. In addition, it is imperative to consult and listen to the opinion of professionals, since the right facade paint is the key to a beautiful building.
